A Romantic Country Wedding | Lacombe, Alberta | 3Haus Photographics

Well there has been a few intermittent posts on here but I just realized that I have not gotten to any of our 2014 wedding couples. So we need to start sharing some of the awesome weddings that we were apart of last year (especially while we are having a little promo for our remaining 2014 dates ;)). First up Mika and Jon and their Romantic Country Wedding, if your interested and I highly recommend it, check out their engagement session from Portland Oregon where we met up with them at Cathedral Park.

Their big day was our first Wedding last summer, it also happened to fall 3 weeks after the birth of our little girl Lennon. Yup, we went back to work 3 weeks after. It was quite a whirlwind. The awesome thing is Mika and Jon’s day turned out perfect. Its not always that you get beautiful weather on August long weekend in Alberta but Friday August 1st was a bright shiny day. These two were made for each other, a little tidbit, Mika loves farmers and Jon is a farmer. Mika kind of knew he was the one after 6 months of dating, at christmas, he got her a bow tie ring (if you keep reading you will notice a trend with the Bows ;)) She also loves his genuine kindness and ability to laugh every day. They are truly best friends. In fact they refer to each other as friend. When planning their wedding they wanted to combine Mika’s love of romantic beauty and Jon’s love for the great outdoors and wilderness. In their own words their wedding theme was Romantic Country. They were able to have an outdoor ceremony at Billyco Junction Gardens just outside of Lacombe, Alberta. They had beautiful white benches for their family and friends to sit on and the couple stood under an a beautiful handmade arch during the ceremony. The other really cool thing was instead of a traditional sand ceremony they had an evergreen, in a yellow pot which they watered. A fantastic way to uniquely represent their relationship and customize their ceremony to compliment them as a couple. Oh and lets not forget to mention the pie. At the end of the ceremony there was Pie & Drinks for the guests. All the details through out the day were so well thought of, you may notice a trend though the photos, yellow and grey color scheme and bows! Lots of bows. The back of the brides maid dresses, each place setting at the reception and even Mika’s toms had two little yellow bows added. At their reception they had many different people perform for their guests from an Orchestra to a cousin writing a song for the couple on the day of the wedding. They finished off their night with sparklers and a Photo Booth. It was a fantastic day! Thanks for having us there and we hope you enjoy getting a glimpse of all the love and details this wonderful couple put into their wedding.
